I’m Gabi Ralea, home & living blogger, and contributor to international DIY platforms. I’m a redesigner, a gardener, and a tailor when my personal projects need one. I am Romania’s only interior redesigner certified in color analysis, a tool that I successfully translated from fashion industry to interior design.

I studied home redesign and professional organizing, so I could create homes that my clients resonate with. My certification in 4×4 color analysis (16 subtypes) allows me to personalize clients’ homes in a way no one else in the field can.

DIY-er & wardrobe doctor

I restore and paint furniture and clothing, craft, draw, paint, and do anything that comes my way. Handywoman is my middle name! I also teach others how to craft, because there are no ‘two left hands,’ but only people who don’t know yet how much they can craft.

Blogger & content creator

I started working on DIY projects for American audience, in 2016, published my first DIY book on Amazon.com and launched GabiRalea.ro in a niche that didn’t exist in Romania. By 2018, I had my own DIY show on one of the Romanian national televisions, with the latest season aired on Prima TV.

I’ve come so far because my core values guided me right: independence, sustainability, creativity, and honesty. ‘Do what you love so you can love what you do‘ is the advice I’ve always followed and truly believe in. As a side note, this is what the heart in my logo is meant to stand for.

I’ve always wanted to be a designer, but I’ve spent 20 years as a journalist. After writing 10,000 articles and winning some kind of Romanian Pulitzer award, I left the media to pursue a content marketing career in the U.S.. Oh, boy, this move definitely changed my life!

I couldn’t care less about changing my career in my 40s. Why would I be afraid of using a power drill? Hold my beer and pass me some nails!! Ohhh, and did I mention that I really love my job??
