Wrapping Christmas gifts might be challenging, but also an opportunity to develop creative ideas. One thing is certain: in the eye of the receiver, any attempt to customize the wrapping is much more successful than any ready-made solutions. So, if you feel like being unable to wrap perfectly a gift, then go with an easier solution like creating our own gift tags. Here’s an easy way to do it using watercolors and a piece of paper.
What you Need for This Project
There are many ways to make Christmas gift tags, but this time I’ll go with watercolors. Choose some thicker paper for watercolors, white or any other color you like. For painting, watercolors or watercolor pencils work equally fine. Also grab a thin marker (I chose black and gold for this project), scissors, ruler, and a few pieces of twine or ribbon. You can also work with glitter or beads, but the latter would require a bit of glue. You’ll also need a lid or a glass to trace perfect circles on paper.

How You Make the Gift Tags
Trace several circles on the drawing paper, about 10 cm apart from the top edge. Center them having in mind that you’ll need to cut the paper in equal pieces, one for each circle. If you go with an A4 paper and a regular paint spray cap like I did, you’ll have two rows with 3 gift tags on each of them.

Fill the circles with watercolor by wetting the edges. While the color is still wet, added a touch of glitter on the globes for a festive effect. The glitter will stick better if you’ll use glue instead of water. Also if you choose to add beads instead of glitter, using glue is mandatory.

Next step is cutting out the tags then drawing a string and a few stars on each. Tracing lines between the circles helped me cut equal parts of paper for each tag. I also mase the corners round for a more neat look. There’s enough room for writing “TO:” and “FROM:” on the tag below the ornament, but I chose to place them within. It looks to me that it gives the tag more depth and add the important part to their focal point.
Last thing to do is punching a small hole in each tag to add the string, and they’re ready!
